September 2024 PSA return with a unique twist

30/12/2024

My most recent PSA return has been a rollercoaster of emotions—some highs, some lows, and one surprising gem! Here’s the breakdown:

Shining Charizard – PSA 2
I was actually hoping for a PSA 1 on this one, but honestly, it’s hard to be disappointed when the card itself is such a masterpiece. No matter the grade, it’s a stunning piece that deserves a spot in my collection.

Shining Mewtwo – PSA 4
This one stung a bit. It was originally graded a 5.5 by Cardmarket, so I expected something in that range. Dropping down to a PSA 4 was definitely disappointing, but I guess that’s part of the risk when crossing grades between services.

Shining Mew – PSA 1
Now here’s the highlight of the return! While it may be a PSA 1, it comes with a rare holo error designation—one of only 32 copies graded by PSA. Considering I only paid 50€ for it and a verified authentic version has sold for $1,000+ on eBay, I’d say this is a major win!

What’s Next?

For now, I’m taking a step back from chasing more expensive cards and shifting my focus to filling in some of the cheaper gaps in my collection—particularly from the Holon Research Tower set. It’s a refreshing change of pace and still a fun way to keep building my collection without breaking the bank.

What do you think of these grades? Let me know your thoughts and if you’ve had any surprises in your own PSA returns!
